ST. THOMAS — The boil water advisory issued for approximately 250 residents on September 4th, 2024 has been rescinded by Southwestern Public Health.

Recent water samples were taken with satisfactory results. Affected residents have been notified directly.

Mayor Joe Preston would like to thank the residents of St. Thomas once again for their patience and understanding while awaiting favourable resampling test results.

"Your cooperation during this time has been greatly appreciated. I also wanted to extend my gratitude to our municipal staff who worked quickly and efficiently to address the situation, and to Southwestern Public Health for their invaluable guidance through this process. We are fortunate to have such a reliable water system and professionals who are committed to maintaining its safety. Together we have proven once again that our community can tackle any challenges we face, and for that I am incredibly #stthomasproud."

After a boil water advisory, it is recommended that residents run their taps for 5 minutes to flush out the lines.
