UPDATE: SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT HAS ENDED
Posted on 01/25/2026

(pursuant to Section16.9 of Ontario Regulation 239/02, as amended)

Effective January 26, 2026, 8:30am, the City of St. Thomas has ended the significant weather event that was declared on January 25, 2026.

Users of the roads and sidewalks in the City of St. Thomas are advised to continue exercising caution as regular maintenance activities are still occurring.

Trail clearing is taking place but will be a multi-day project for complete clearing. Residents should use City trails at their own discretion.

Snow removal from Talbot Street and the downtown core has been arranged to start in the evening on January 26th. Crews will be working to remove the snow from the road edge, sidewalks and parking spaces to ensure minimal obstructions. This process will proceed for the duration of the week and longer if necessary. This operation may be altered if more snow accumulates and maintenance operations are necessary. Snow removal crews will also be removing snow from parking lots, cul-de-sacs and other snow storage areas throughout daytime hours.

The City of St. Thomas continues to monitor road and weather conditions to ensure public safety is maintained. Thank you to all residents for their patience during this time.
