The City is continuing its annual Groundhog Day tradition on Monday, February 2, 2026, inviting residents to gather downtown for a quick and fun winter celebration.
The event will take place at sunrise (shortly after 7:30 a.m.) at the groundhog mural behind Westlake Evans Park. Mayor Preston will share brief remarks before the much-anticipated Groundhog Day prediction — will it be an early spring or six more weeks of winter?
This light-hearted tradition is a simple way to celebrate the season and enjoy a moment of community together. The event will only take a few minutes, making it easy for residents, visitors, and commuters to stop by on their way through downtown.
Community members are encouraged to bundle up and join us for this fun local tradition.
