The City of St. Thomas is turning 145, and the community is invited to celebrate this milestone birthday on Wednesday, March 4 at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.
The evening begins with a free public skate from 5:45 to 6:35 p.m., giving residents of all ages a chance to hit the ice and kick off the celebration together. Following the skate, attendees can enjoy family-friendly activities, music, and complimentary food while supplies last.
At 7:30 p.m., the St. Thomas Stars will take the ice for their evening game, featuring a special ceremonial puck drop by Mayor Joe Preston. The first 200 fans will receive free admission to the game. After that, ticket prices are $8 for ages 10–17, $12 for ages 18–64, and $10 for ages 65+. Children under 10 are always free and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
This celebration is an opportunity to reflect on 145 years of community, history, and hometown pride — and to look ahead to the future together.
